Meet Our Teachers!
Ms. Kay Hopkins has a B.S. in Home Economics and English Education and a Masters in Education from the University of Monroe, LA. Ms. Hopkins is in her third year of teaching high school English at SABCS. Her leisure time hobbies include needlework, reading, and spending time with her family and pets.
Mrs. Amanda Christmas holds a BS in Biology from the University of SC - Aiken. She has been teaching at SABCS for 5 years. Currently, Mrs. Christmas teaches Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Anatomy (Biology II). She has been married for 4 years and enjoys playing her guitar and singing when she is not teaching. She also enjoys watching football and her favorite team is Alabama.
Mr. Todd Brown hold a B.A. in Pastoral Studies from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL., and an M.Div. from The King’s University in Los Angeles CA. He has taught in Christian Schools for the past 15 years. For the past six years, Mr. Brown has taught High School Bible. Mr. Brown is married and has one daughter. He serves as a teaching elder/pastor with North Augusta Community Fellowship Church.
Mrs. Jane Stephens holds a BA degree in Secondary Education-Mathematics from Clemson University. She has over 25 years’ experience teaching in public school, homeschool, and currently at SABCS where she teachs middle and high school mathematics. In her spare time she loves spending time with her family which includes her husband and three adult children. She is an avid Clemson Tigers fan. Her life verse is Isaiah 41:10.
Mrs. Rachel Turner holds a BA in History from USC-Aiken and is pursuing her MAT from Liberty University. At SABCS, she teaches high school history. Mrs. Turner is married and expecting her first child in December. When not at school, she enjoys being active in her church and coaching girls’ volleyball.
Mrs. Tara Trotter holds a BA in Social Work from Appalachian State University, a MA in Social Work from University of SC, 66 hours in Secondary Math Education and 18 graduate hours in Statistics. She is married and has three daughters. Outside of school she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.
Mr. Don Faugl received his BA in Bible from Bob Jones University and his M.Ed. from USC in Secondary Math Education, though he is still a Clemson fan. He retired from the public school arena after 27½ years teaching all levels from basic math skills to AP Calculus and AP Statistics. He joined the SABCS team in 2014 and continues to serve as an adjunct professor at Aiken Technical College. He and his wife love to travel and anticipate completing their 50 state tour next summer. Also they’ve been to more than a dozen other countries, most recently 4 weeks in Europe.
